Lots of people are having fun searching for swear words in source code using Google’s new Source Code search engine. I thought I’d search for something Barbie once said

Last week I got an email From August saying that Bill had passed away… it took me till today to make note of it here on my blog. Needless to say we are all greatly saddened by his passing, and more importantly the podosphere are even more impacted as he was a pioneer in this field and always brought something new and fresh to the table.
Again, Bill you will be missed.
It always looks like a nice day when your above the clouds.
I’ve “talked” over email a few times with Robert Scoble — the man, the myth, the legend — but never using more than a keyboard, but that was until tonight Robert and I had a 30 minute conversation about a new site I’ve been working on called PopCurrent. Read what Robert had to say over here, and you can post comments on my blog or on his.
Also on a side note, I’m going to the Portable Media Expo this year? are you going? if so say Hi!
My buddies Jason and Staysea are trying to win a contest to get married at the Toronto CNE this year … click on the link and vote for them, and helpfully pass this around to anyone who might be able to help

Yesterday afternoon Shannon and myself went to see “In A Soldier’s Footsteps” which was part of HotDocs - An International Documentary Film Festival. The film is hard to describe because it stated out being about what it was like to be a child soldier in Uganda and turned into something much more.
Here is a short blurb:
Steven Ndugga was 13 when he was conscripted into a paramilitary group in his native Uganda. Now 30, he is living as a political refugee in Denmark. Director Mette Zeruneith is preparing a documentary on Steven’s past when a bizarre turn of events abruptly launches the film in a new direction. Steven receives word that his 10-year-old son, long presumed dead, is alive and serving as a boy soldier in the Ugandan army. Determined to liberate his son, Steven returns to his homeland only to be abducted by the military. But is he a terrorist, as the Ugandan state claims, or a victim caught up in a web of corruption?
HotDocs is actually now over, so you might want to check your local listings to see when you might be able to catch this. It might start to be shown on the Documentary Channel soon as they were a big sponsor of HotDocs.
I was thinking of getting XM for its music selection as well as good talk programming. But after close inspection XM Canada is missing channel 163 - Sonic Theater - which carries Slice Of Sci-Fi(I listen to Michael and Evo’s line of podcasts all the time (they have 3 per week) but I feel the need to support them in satellite radio as well - yes, they are that good) as well as many other interesting programming. Call me when you guys add Sonic Theater and I’ll reconsider joining up with XM.
Good friend Evo Terra from The Dragon Page and Podiobooks.com fame also a while ago wrote Podcasting For Dummies with Tee Morris. I haven’t had a chance to pick up the book until today, but when I did I found this:
I’m very thankful for them including us not only in the book buy having us in such a list that includes Dave Winer, Adam Curry, Steve Jobs, and Doug Kaye just to name a few. Even though I hate being called a ‘Dummy’ when I read/buy ‘For Dummies’ books, I tend to find them a good read; Podcasting For Dummies managed to up the bar. Hats off To Evo and Tee — great work! |
